She Is Fierce: Amazing Female Writers That History Forgot

Many female writers today are achieving the success they deserve but it has not always been that way. Anthologist Ana Sampson seeks out the hidden talent of female writers of the past. Who are these women and why do we not already know their names? From the innovative to the inspirational, discover the stories of suffragettes, aristocrats, schoolgirls and medieval visionaries who make up the hidden history of women's writing.

Ana Sampson is editor of poetry anthologies. including I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud... and Other Poems You Half-Remember from School, Best-Loved Poems and Poems to Learn by Heart. Her latest book is She Is Fierce: Brave, Bold and Beautiful Poems by Women (Macmillan). Ana lived in South West London for fifteen years but now lives in Surrey with her husband, two small daughters and two cats. She spends too much time on Twitter and Instagram (@Anabooks).
