About

Hello,

I am Claudia.
Dance has always been part of my life. Much younger, I studied dance and had a Bachelor Degree in Jazz dance from a Conservatoire in the Paris area. My pathway went then towards contemporary dance as I joined later on a French contemporary dance company.

I’ve always felt dance was a way to release pressures and find balance in my life and when I was about to become a mother I felt a much stronger connection with the nurturing power of dance.

During my pregnancy and later on during my journey from womanhood to motherhood, I lived and experienced deep, complex and beautiful emotions. This is during that chapter of my life only that I realised how much movement is humans’ primal first language, here to embrace the changes happening in one’s body, hormones, brain, feelings, identity, life.

This extensive range of feelings and emotions of the new mother are quite unsettling. They are also a magnificent engine towards movement. The ability for an individual to welcome, accept and sometimes shape her own emotions is also deeply interlinked with confidence and wellbeing. These interconnections between emotions and movement became a growing passion which I decided to investigate and study further. I therefore trained as a Barre&Babyâ„¢ teacher in 2018 as I developed a strong need to share these findings and support others on their journey as mothers-to-be or mothers.
As I can't stop investigating how movement initiate, I also joined the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in Greenwich to dig into Choreological Studies. This is where I conduct some studies with mothers on how choreology can provoke or stimulate a non-verbal communication with their babies within their intimate bonding.
