CELLO TALES
Join us for an interactive class of singing, stories and cello playing
What Cello Tales says
My classes are 45 minutes of interactive music, folk stories and games. I nurture children's knowledge of music using musical building blocks like pitch, timbre and rhythm. To achieve this, I sing and play on the cello a mixture of pieces written especially for children as well as folk songs particularly suited to young listeners. These special pieces are to make sure that the adults enjoy the music just as much as the children. Each class includes percussion games, story time, dancing, group singing and more!
On top of being huge amounts of fun, music is also wonderfully beneficial for children’s development in a multitude of areas.
* Speech & listening
* Focus & concentration
* Reading & spelling
* Mathematics & problem solving
* Balance & co-ordination
* Self-esteem & confidence
* Kindness & working together
It is a wonderful way for children to express themselves without words and it's a brilliant bonding activity accessible from a young age
About
I am a professional singer and cellist with a wealth of experience in early years teaching. Since graduating from Goldsmiths university I have worked as a touring vocalist and cellist working in many projects. I have also taught vocal and cello to a variety of age groups as well as leading classes and events. As a young child I was profoundly inspired by the music around me, particularly intriguing folk songs and stories that evoked a magical world. I am passionate about the beneficial effect music has on all ages, but particularly young curious minds.
