I offer personal antenatal breastfeeding sessions for individuals and couples, tailored to suit individual needs. I am a professional, experienced practitioner. In your own home, at a time that suits you, Kate Cameron Breastfeeding could be ideal for busy people or those wanting something more bespoke than traditional classes can offer. From antenatal information, through to breastfeeding support and eventual weaning, I will work with you with compassion and warmth.
I have been supporting parents and their babies with feeding since qualifying as a breastfeeding counsellor in 2010. As well as this role, my work includes antenatal education and postnatal support with the NCT, the Twins Trust , and formerly a local healthcare organisation in conjunction with the NHS. I facilitate two Baby Cafes and specialise in supporting parents of twins.
I trained with the NCT and have a diploma in Breastfeeding Counselling from the University of Bedfordshire. My breastfeeding antenatal sessions are specifically tailored to meet parents’ needs, whether they are first timers wanting information or second timers looking to refresh their memories or have a different feeding experience from their first time round. The information I give is evidence based and unbiased, with a parent-centred approach, allowing parents to make their own informed decisions.
Regular study days and ongoing training enable me to keep up to date with current research and information on breastfeeding, along with being part of a local team of breastfeeding counsellors.
I have four children, including twins, and have personal experience of overcoming breastfeeding difficulties. I understand how challenging the journey can be and will support you along the way.
