About
I’m a mum of 3 small people who are wonderful. They have changed my life in many ways and sometimes it’s easy to keep on top of what you need, when there is always something they need.
Before becoming a mum I went to the gym before work and it ignited my day, made me feel good, gave me goals to set and reach and woke me up for an always oversubscribed busy day as a clinical nurse specialist in CAMHS. I’ve spent nearly 2 decades working in the field and I knew there was a connection between having a clear head in the morning, making time for exercise first thing and my ability to do a good job without the common lethargy that comes with being a nurse/always looking after others needs.
So I trained as a pt as a back up in case I didn’t want to continue nursing. It became a hobby and a sideline where I trained some friends and worked on myself.
Having a tricky first pregnancy with horrible pgp, I continued exercising but the guidance was don’t. I found this to be completely wild and wanted to move my body for me and for my baby.
6 years later, 3 pregnancies, 3 times rebuilding my body and an extra training as a CBT therapist. I’m finally, able to bring both fitness and mental health together in a way that makes sense. Why don’t you want to go to the gym? Low mood or anxiety? What can exercise do for you? Lift your mood? Be an act of mindfulness? There are so many links and research. I want to help you in both.
