MY PARENT HOOD

Antenatal classes Hull and East Yorkshire

What My Parent Hood says

Hi! I’m Grace. A midwife and mum. I currently practice midwifery in the NHS and started My Parenthood in response to my experiences as a midwife and a new mum. I feel antenatal education is really important and often is overlooked, leaving parents feeling scared and unclear about the options they have in their pregnancy, labour and birth. The Antenatal Course is a complete package of information including hypnobirthing and labour and birth prep; breast and bottle feeding; and baby first aid. We want parents to be able to access all of the most up to date, evidence based information in one place, in one course and in one price. When I had my first daughter I lived far away from family and close friends didn’t have children. I felt a bit….dare I say it…bored!! Thank goodness for my children’s centre as I went to EVERYTHING they had on offer. However, I do feel there is probably room for something a little more inspiring for new parents? When the antenatal course is up and running we’re hoping to collaborate with other local businesses to host interesting, inspiring but most importantly CHILD FRIENDLY parent workshops. We also host The Brew Club on Thursday mornings, 10am-12pm, at the East Riding Theatre Cafe, Beverley. No judgement or expectation, just us building the community that we’ve started antenatally and continuing that support for each other. All parents welcome. This will be free to attend and there will be cake. I feel this was vital to my post birth recovery.
