What Nurturing Wild says

Join our welcoming community of local families, relax, connect with nature and have fun with your child at the wonderful nature sites.

Nurturing Wild aims to inspire parents to be playful with their child in nature. The sessions focus on key early years skills which support your child's learning.

The sessions start based around a high quality picture book linked to a nature theme. A range of engaging activities such as mud kitchen play, mark making, nature themed art and messy play are set up around the site. Information books are provided alongside magnifying glasses, spotter sheets and bug pots.

Inspired by the Forest School mantra of 'There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing!' sessions aim to run all weathers (if safe to do so) see Nurturing Wild's website for a guide about what to wear during the different seasons.

Concession prices are available for low-income families. Please get in touch with Julia via email to find out more.

About

Hi parents

I founded Nurturing Wild with the aim of creating a community of families who are keen to connect with others and spend time in nature. I qualified as a primary and early years teacher over 20 years ago and am a qualified Forest School leader. My aim is to inspire parents to get outdoors in nature with their child.

Follow Nurturing Wild on social media and sign up to receive monthly newsletters via the website for nature play ideas and parenting tips for getting outdoors!

Hope to see you at a session soon!
