What Nurturing Wild says

Nurturing Wild's parent and child sessions are fun, engaging and provide lots of opportunities to explore nature. The ethos of our sessions are play-based and follow a child-led approach. We encourage children to follow their own curiosities and interests during the session. The sessions start based around a high quality picture book linked to a nature theme. A range of engaging activities such as mud kitchen play, mark making, nature themed art and messy play are set up around the site. These are linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage areas of learning and development. There is a big focus on exploring and engaging with Nature. Information books are provided alongside magnifying glasses, spotter sheets and bug pots. We follow the Forest School mantra of 'There's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing!' See Nurturing Wild's website for a guide about what to wear during the different seasons. At Nurturing Wild we believe that our sessions should benefit all and we aim to be inclusive by offering concession prices to low income families. Please get in touch with Julia via email to find out more. Join our welcoming community of local families, sit and chat around the log circle 'base camp', connect with nature and have fun being playful with your child in these wonderful nature sites.
