Physio Effect can offer specialised Prenatal & Postnatal care to help on your journey through pregnancy and in to motherhood. It is common for women to experience pains and musculoskeletal problems relating directly to their pregnancy, both during pregnancy and after childbirth so please don’t worry. This physiotherapist-led Clinical Pilates class aims to prevent pregnancy related issues such as pelvic girdle pain (PGP), symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD), posture related pain as well as a full body workout to prepare you for the birth of your child. During the class, you will be guided through a Pilates programme relevant to your stage of pregnancy and any other issues discussed during your initial physiotherapy appointment. BENEFITS OF MODIFIED PILATES IN PREGNANCY Maintain pelvic floor muscle strength to help prevent incontinence Prevents incidence of PGP, SPD and lower back pain Improves posture Improves/ maintains strength Helps maintain flexibility Relaxation Preparation for labour Meet other mums-to-be CRYBABY PILATES CLASS This is our Postnatal Rehab class which you can begin from 6 weeks postpartum if you had a straightforward vaginal delivery and around 8 weeks after a C-section or assisted vaginal delivery/any other complications. The class is designed to help heal and strengthen muscles affected after pregnancy and delivery such as your pelvic floor and core muscles. This class can also help manage back pain, pelvic girdle pain, improve continence and address abdominal separation (diastasis recti). The added bonus is you are welcome to bring your (pre-crawling) baby along to the class while you exercise. The classes run over a 6 week block.
