Playing is the occupation of children and therefore integral to children’s development generally. Playing is particularly important to children’s acquisition of language and communication skills. Talking and communicating, and understanding what is being said and communicated, are essentials for children’s development and significantly impact on children’s ability to learn, and to access learning and education.
