PUDDING AND PIE WEST MIDLANDS

Help spread the word on food glorious food through fun lessons!

What Pudding and Pie says

This is a chance for your child to really get stuck into the cooking. Are they budding chefs? Do you want to encourage your child to extend their knowledge and experience of food or learn to be independent in the kitchen? This is your magic together to create your own masterpieces. Your child will improve their understanding of the role of food in a healthy body, learn about tastes and textures & enhance their numerical skills by learning about different measuring units. The best bit? They get to take try what they have made and share with the rest of the family. Their confidence soars as they work with you, learning a new life skill together. Each session is specifically created to inspire and stimulate even the most timid of taste buds! Each recipe is carefully selected for its nutritional value so that your child gains a taste for good, healthy food that is fun too! A list of ingredients are provided a few days before so that you can stock up and don't worry we try to limit each recipe to around 5 simple easy to get ingredients. After we have created our masterpieces and popped them in the oven we have circle time to chat about what we have done and to talk about Star Baker. We reward a Star Baker of the week that has demonstrated the qualities of listening, sharing (with you) and showing they are ready. After each session your child will be brimming with confidence after creating something wonderful of their very own.

About

After a career in training and developing adults within the Finance sector I set up Pudding and Pie Limited in 2012. I am passionate about children's development, love food glorious food and the two go together so beautifully. Throughout this period of time I have taught in both inner city as well as private schools, pre-school nurseries and private classes. Pudding and Pie has an established cookery school every Saturday teaching KS1, KS2 and KS3. There have been a multitude of children that have benefitted from Pudding and Pie. It doesn't matter if you have additional needs, whether it be autism, ADHD, global delay, speech and learning difficulties, cooking works with and beyond any of these differences. What I love most about cooking is that each and every child is learning as they go. They don't realise that they have just done some maths, some science & reading all whist making a cake! This is what makes each session unique.....it is this learning through cooking that helps children grow in confidence to then tackle their maths homework over the weekend. It is each and every cooking session that helps them to learn to share, listen and work as a team. Each of these qualities are recognised and rewarded throughout each session as they are valuable life lessons. It is for all of these reasons that I LOVE what I do and why each child I meet on a weekly basis is so important and special, even if I do teach around 300 children every week.
