RATTLE AND HUM MUSIC

Interactive music classes exploring real instruments each week!

What Rattle and Hum Music says

There are so many baby music classes out there, why come to mine? 2 words - REAL INSTRUMENTS! Each week I’ll be bringing a real instrument to class, and thanks to my degree in music I’m a one stop shop when it comes to playing different instruments! This means I can provide the opportunity to explore a variety of different instruments, from ukulele, to saxophone, bass, and keyboard, all without needed to pay external musicians to come to each class, saving you a bundle on the ticket price. All my experience and knowledge as a musician and mum I bring to class so you and your baby or toddler can have the opportunity to explore instruments they might not ordinarily get to see up close. An important part of my program is making sure that not only do the children get to have individual attention and time with the instruments, but you as a parent can have a chat and get to know other parents too. To facilitate this, in every class I spend time with every child so they can get up close to the instrument of the week. They can touch it, play it, hear it, and dribble on it! I keep my classes small, just 12 as a maximum, so this is the perfect time to get to know the people around you. Where else can you go where your child can press the buttons on a saxophone, strum a bass guitar, or play the keyboard?

About

Hi I'm Jen!

I had a baby in January 2020 and decided to make good use of my Music Degree to keep her entertained during lockdown - a daunting prospect without all the baby groups I'd been banking on!

When classes re-opened I found that although there were many music classes, none of them had the opportunity to explore real musical instruments, something that I did often at home with my daughter.

After being made redundant I started working in a nursery and decided to combine my love of music and childcare into something other parents could benefit from. I wanted to give other people the opportunity to bring their baby or toddler to a class where they could not only sing familiar songs but also get the unique experience of touching, hearing, and exploring real musical instruments.
