Hypnobirthing is a wonderful psychological tool to prepare you for a positive childbirth experience. You will be encouraged to turn off the over-dramatised birth scenes on TV and instead to tune in to positive stories you can read, watch, or listen to, to help retrain your mind into seeing birth as something positive. You will be encouraged to complete nightly relaxation practice, and to release fear, so once you are in labour you can just let go and let your body do what it is designed to do naturally. It really is wonderful and gives you, your baby, and your partner, a calm, confident, and empowered start to your journey as parents.

About

My name is Soraya and I'm a Clinical Associate Psychologist by background. I've worked largely within child and adolescent mental health and I am passionate about the wellbeing of children and their parents. Pregnancy and birth is the foundation for everything else that comes and it is so important that we as society get it right. By that I mean that women feel empowered, they feel confident in their body's ability, and that they are given informed consent about their choices. When I'm not teaching hypnobirthing, reading birth books, or listening to birth books, you can usually find me enjoying time with my children, cooking, at the gym, or doing yoga. I love good food, good company, and a glass of wine.
