BIG MESS SENSORY PLAY

Big Mess Sensory Play offers fun, relaxed and child-led messy play sessions designed to support early development through sensory exploration, creativity and curiosity.

Our sessions are suitable for children aged 6 months to 5 years, with activities adapted to suit different stages and abilities. We offer two types of classes:

• Taste-Safe Sensory Play, designed for babies and younger toddlers, typically up to around 18 months

• Non Taste-Safe Sensory Play, suitable for children confident exploring messy materials without mouthing

All children are welcome to attend either session. Parents are encouraged to choose the class best suited to their child’s stage of development. Younger children, including babies from 6 months, may attend non taste-safe sessions when accompanying an older sibling or friend. Please note that not all activities will be taste-safe and adult supervision is required at all times.

Each session follows an exciting theme such as beach holidays, outer space, the Olympics and more, with familiar core activities including painting, water play and sensory exploration. Sessions are sensory-rich, hands-on and very messy. Old clothes are strongly recommended.

Our classes follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in a natural, play-led way, supporting physical development, communication, creativity, curiosity and confidence without pressure or expectations.

Parents and carers remain with their child throughout the session and are responsible for supervision at all times. There is no right or wrong way to take part.

We do not use peanuts or tree nuts in activities. However, nuts are present elsewhere on shared premises and a nut-free environment cannot be guaranteed. Activities may contain common allergens including gluten, milk, eggs and sesame. Please contact us before booking if your child has allergies.

All materials, set-up and clean-up are included. Come prepared to get messy and leave the clean-up to us.

Allergy Information
• Big Mess Sensory Play does not use peanuts or tree nuts in activities
• Please note the venue is within a frozen yoghurt shop where nuts are present on site
• We cannot guarantee a nut-free environment

Facilities
• Toilets are available on site
• The frozen yoghurt is excellent and available to purchase before or after your session

What to Bring
• Old clothes or spare clothes for children
• Towels and/or wet wipes for after the session

During the Session
• Parents and carers remain with their child at all times
• Please supervise your child and choose activities appropriate for them
