She graduated from the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama where she furthered her studies in Piano and completed a Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Singing. Joana holds a Certificate for Music Educators in Early Childhood and she can teach in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
2 years - 5 years
Joana’s music sessions are based on the Kodály method, which was inscribed as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, developed by the Hugarian composer Zoltán Kodály (1882-1967). The Kodály teaching method is a holistic approach to music. Singing is the best medium for teaching the language of music at an early age and it helps develop the "inner hearing”.
Through singing games and musical rhymes children will be able to increase their creativity, listening skills, memory, fluency of speech, coordination, spatial awareness, self-esteem, confidence and much more. Joana will encourage you to make use of your pots, pans, wooden spoons, shakers and other household objects which will be turned into instruments! Get ready to sing and make some noise!
