Description
With over 20 years’ experience of creating singing magic with children and adults, Birmingham based choir Ex Cathedra are now offering singing sessions for pre-school children and their families.
Led by the award-winning Ex Cathedra Singing Medicine team who work with inpatients at Birmingham Children’s Hospital, the Noah Bear group will focus on bringing fun and joy through music. Singing together is well documented to establish bonds, support wellbeing and develops communities. Rebecca Ledgard, Director of Education & Participation said “Our Vocal Academies offer singing opportunities for school age children and we are delighted to extend this to younger children and their parents/carers. We hope the classes will establish a life-long love of music and singing”.
Classes will be held weekly at Birmingham Midland Institute on Fridays from 10-11am. Parents and children from 0-4 will enjoy singing games, many of which have been written specifically for the classes, as well as social time.
The inclusive adult community choir run by Ex Cathedra is also moving to Fridays at Birmingham Midland Institute. Adults with some or no singing experience are all welcome at the Ladywood Choir sessions which take place on Friday mornings from 11:15-12:30. The group sing a wide range of music from sacred to contemporary and no audition is required.
