GoggleSquad was founded by former Great Britain and England swimmer Nicola Ayers with a clear purpose: to offer high-quality swimming lessons in calm, welcoming pools where babies and young children feel safe, supported and confident from their very first experience in the water.

When working with babies and toddlers, a deep understanding of early childhood development is essential. The early years are a crucial period for helping children develop a natural awareness of how their bodies move in the water. Rather than focusing on outcomes or techniques too early, our classes prioritise familiarity, comfort and positive sensory experiences, laying strong foundations for confident swimming later on.

For many young children, the swimming pool can feel like a big and unfamiliar environment. Our Parent & Child lessons are designed to ensure babies and toddlers feel in control at all times, with a trusted parent or carer in the water alongside them up to the age of three. This shared experience builds trust, reassurance and connection, helping children feel secure as they explore the water.

Our teachers are highly trained in reading body language and responding to non-verbal communication, adjusting activities moment by moment to suit each child’s needs. We also support parents in learning to recognise these cues, empowering them to respond confidently and sensitively. This partnership approach helps children feel understood, calm and happy in the water, leading to stronger confidence and more effective learning.

We are Swim England and Aqua Sensory accredited, drawing on best practice to deliver a thoughtful, well-rounded early years programme.

Our lessons are built around age-appropriate, sensory-rich activities that include exploratory, imaginative and constructive play. This allows babies and toddlers to learn naturally, at their own pace, while developing confidence, coordination and a positive relationship with the water that will support them for years to come.
