Groovykins – Dance & Movement for Little Ones

Groovykins is a fun, high-energy dance and movement class for young children and their grown-ups to enjoy together.

Sessions are all about dancing and moving to music, combining simple action-based dances (where children and parents/carers join in and copy along) with plenty of free movement. Little ones can jump, wiggle, stretch, spin and explore movement in their own way, helping to build coordination, balance, rhythm and body awareness.

Each class follows the same familiar structure, helping children feel settled and confident, while fun themes rotate regularly to keep sessions fresh and engaging. This balance of routine and variety allows children to feel secure while still enjoying something new each time.

Classes also include movement using scarves, ribbons and child-friendly musical instruments, adding sensory exploration and extra fun. Sessions are structured but relaxed, with lots of encouragement and absolutely no pressure, children can join in as much or as little as they like, and watching is always okay.

Groovykins is suitable for little ones who are confidently walking up to age 5, with parents or carers actively joining in alongside their child throughout the session. No previous dance experience is needed, and there’s no expectation for children (or adults!) to get things “right”.

Each class finishes with a snack and a sticker, giving children a calm, positive end to the session.
