Pop-Up Shakespeare is coming to Hackney! 

East London Theatre Company Hullabaloo bring a season of lively, funny, improvised and completely original reimaginings of Shakespeare to the garden of The People’s Park Tavern this summer! Each show is created with ideas from the audience, and it’s all performed in Hullabaloo’s pop-up Theatre.

And because the audience helps write it, you’ll never see the same show twice!

The Duke of Athens wants The Rude Mechanicals to perform a play at his wedding. The thing is, they forgot to write it! Can you help? 

Do you remember Pyramus & Thisbe? The romantic tragedy that Bottom & The Rude Mechanicals perform in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM for the Duke? In this interactive theatre show, the audience will help write & stage a brand new version.

Combining Shakespeare’s original text with fresh ideas from the audience, The Rude Mechanicals will build a show using music, props, puppets, & killer dance moves. The end result? A completely fabulous play that’s fit for a King! Duke!

Hullabaloo are passionate about making theatre accessible and encouraging on-your-feet, wild, inventive fun where the audience can get creative, free their imagination, discover some hidden talents, and learn some of the best theatre ever written.

The magic will happen in The Rude Mechanicals' pop-up Theatre in the garden of People's Park Tavern, accessed through the gate on Victoria Park.

All are welcome, but most suitable for ages 4 and up.

All children must be accompanied.
