IT TAKES A VILLAGE, CRYSTAL PALACE

Gather with us again in Crystal Palace Park for a peaceful family pram or sling walk (or scoot) for Save The Children's Emergency Appeal, raising funds for families caught up in the devastating & escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Save The Children say “We had already run out of words to describe how catastrophic the situation is in Rafah, but this next chapter will take it to indescribable new levels. Children & families have nowhere to go - nowhere in Gaza is safe or able to support life. A ceasefire is the only way to stop the death and destruction, get aid to those who desperately need it, and safely release the hostages. The region needs the support of humanitarian organisations now more than ever."

Since 7 October, Save The Children have reached over 500,000 people, including over 270,000 children in the region by:

- Distributing medical supplies
- Working with partners to treat critically ill children & newborns, providing mobile clinics in areas that cannot access services
- Assisting the set up of a delivery & postnatal inpatient ward, recruiting midwives & doctors & providing antenatal/postnatal care to mothers
- Training community volunteers on screening children under 5 for malnutrition
- Delivering breastfeeding support or breast milk substitute kits
- Providing Mental Health support for children & families in Israel & Gaza

The whole family are welcome to the walk. Meeting point is Brown & Green Life Cafe in Crystal Palace park, 10.45am ready to set off at 11am. We'll aim to finish no later than 12pm back at the cafe for refreshments or picnic if the weather allows. We're not aiming to cover ground quickly, this is more a chance to come together as a community and raise funds for this vital cause.
