JIGSAW PERFORMING ARTS CROUCH END

We offer all new students a 2-week trial at the start of the term so that your child can try the classes. Our classes are led by a specialist performing arts teacher. There are around 10 -15 children in each class so it’s a lovely size of group. The sessions are split into dance, drama and singing activities and there is a short snack break too.

Settling in: We begin each session by bringing the children into the 3&4’s studio as they arrive to take off coats and sit in a circle. This is relaxed and chatty. The 5&6 year olds join this 'settling circle’ before they head off into a different studio space, as the older children really help to model for the younger ones. You are very welcome to join us as we settle all the children in the circle and for 1 or 2 of the activities that the teacher does for 10 mins on your first session, but then parents are encouraged to leave the room so your child can try the rest of the class by themselves. We have seats in the foyer space just outside so you can be on hand if needed. We generally find the children get engrossed in the activities quickly and are happy joining in by themselves. There is an assistant as well as the class teacher in the studio to help all the children to join in.

When and where: We are based at Highgate Wood School and classes are Saturday mornings. We run 3 x 11 week long terms per year; Autumn, Spring and Summer.

What to bring: Your child just needs to wear comfy clothes, trainers and bring a bottle of water and a small snack. Uniform can be purchased at the school during the term if you would like to.
