KINDERGARTEN MUSICIANSHIP CLASSES

These classes are based on the Kodaly method of training young musicians, which is the most respected in the profession, and they are designed to educate as well as to entertain. This is not a franchise but a class run by me, Angela East and my aim is to create the best possible musical education for children. A class lasts for 30 minutes and at present there is some flexibility in the times - Tuesday or Thursday mornings and sometimes Sunday afternoons. The cost is £10 per session.
I have been a professional cellist all my life, playing all kinds of music but specialising in early music and its evolution to the present day. I am a founder member of the ensemble Red Priest, teach Suzuki cello to Level 5 and I'm a teacher trainer and examiner. While it is possible to train for kindergarten teaching with the Suzuki method, I have chosen to train with Colourstrings to give more breadth to my teaching. I have a busy cello teaching practice and teach the Alexander Technique as well.
The classes will include rhymes and songs, graded in a step by step approach, plus movement and listening to live music. A parent/carer attends with the child, as their role is so important at home.
