Description
I set up Kids Make It! ten years ago to teach children the skills required to make and create themselves at home. I've loved making since I was a child and am aware that the majority of art, craft and creative skills classes have gone from the school curriculum. So for me it's vital that children have somewhere to explore and develop their creative side.
In the last decade, I've gone from one class a month to four monthly classes, two weekly Kids Craft Clubs, Craft Camps, bespoke Kids' Parties and 1 to 1 knitting, sewing and crochet classes.
I run most of my classes in my relaxing Make It! Studio at home but also in local halls.
Most of my crafts are STEAM based, and I try to use lots of recycled materials to be environmentally friendly and also keep the cost down. I am to keep my classes as affordable as possible so they are accessible to all.
I teach on my own or with a teenage helper, so that there is always help at hand. Parents don't stay as I'm all about kids making it. We only learn by trying ourselves. It's not about perfection, it's about doing our best, remembering how we did it, so we can use the skills we've learnt to make more things at home.
My studio is at the top of my driveway.
