Description
This group is part of our Diversity Matters service, bringing together women from the global majority and culturally diverse backgrounds in a welcoming and supportive space.
Motherhood can be extraordinary. It can also be exhausting and challenging. Music can lift our moods, reduce stress, and give us space to express ourselves. In this group, we will explore ways to manage the motherload and how music can help. We will learn songs, practice gentle grounding and sound-making exercises that encourage being present in the moment. And the best bit: you absolutely do not have to "be a singer" to enjoy singing and take part!
Motherhood is amazing—but it can also be overwhelming, isolating, and exhausting. This free 5-week group offers a gentle, welcoming space for mums and birthing people from ethnic minority communities, with babies aged 0–12 months.
Through shared conversations, soothing music, and creative expression, we’ll explore ways to manage the emotional load of early motherhood.
Whether you’re navigating sleepless nights, shifting identities, or simply seeking connection, this is a space to breathe, be heard, and be held. Each session blends music-based activities, group sharing, and gentle mindfulness—no musical experience needed and babies welcome!
Our Diversity Matters project aims to provide a voice and support for mums from diverse communities, bringing women together to talk about the complexities related to their culture, upbringing and heritage whilst balancing the challenges that come with the first year of motherhood.
