Humans are masters of storytelling. We find engaging and exciting ways to captivate our audience's attention. For the little ones, this isn't much different, but there is also science behind all the fun.

Sensory storytelling involves immersing children in a story by incorporating the five senses: sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell. This enriching technique empowers youngsters to vividly experience narratives. For instance, when recounting the tale of the Big bad wolf toppling the straw house, a fan can be used to simulate the gust of wind, adding a tactile element.

Research underscores the significance of sensory input in a child's development, as it constitutes a primary mode of learning. Sensory storytelling offers a pathway for children of diverse abilities to engage with a story, activating all their senses instead of just relying on the conventional senses of sight and hearing. Often, we unconsciously prioritize specific senses, but during these sessions, both those inclined towards auditory engagement and those favoring tactile experiences reap the benefits equally.
