THE MOTHERS' SANCTUARY

In a grief circle our experience is welcomed, given space, and seen. Turns to share may be taken starting in one direction, one person after another. Or people may be invited to take turns ‘popcorn style’, whenever they feel ready. In a small group everyone may have an equal turn to share. This may be timed, so that the group’s time is divided equally. Even a small amount of sharing time can be useful.

There may be use of creative ways to process grief in individual times and then share in smaller groups or the wider group (between 6-10 women). Everything is explained at the beginning of our commitment to hold a safe and confidential circle space for each other and ourselves within the weekly blocks and beyond, creating a sacred space for experiences to be processed and witnessed. Each circle will evoke different topics and themes within the circle, we will need to be the emotional container and hold each other emotionally within the weekly circles and be curious and open out our process.
