THE SETTLING NEST

The Settling Nest baby massage classes offer a calm, grounding space for parents and babies to slow down and connect through gentle, responsive touch. Led by Emily, a practitioner trained with the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM), the classes are rooted in respect, consent, and following each baby’s individual cues.

Each session lasts 1.5 hours, allowing plenty of time to settle without feeling rushed. Sessions include both practical massage guidance and gentle theory, helping parents understand why certain techniques are used, when massage can be supportive, and when it’s best to pause. Parents learn simple, confidence-building massage techniques that can be used at home to support relaxation and comfort, particularly during common early challenges such as wind, digestive discomfort, colic-like symptoms, teething, and general unsettledness.

Classes are always baby-led. Parents are encouraged to feed, change, cuddle, or rest whenever needed, and techniques are introduced gradually over the weeks, building towards a gentle full-body routine that can be adapted to suit each baby.

Alongside the massage, there is time to connect with other parents, share experiences, ask questions, and enjoy unlimited tea, coffee, and biscuits. The sessions offer not just practical skills, but a supportive space for bonding, reassurance, and feeling less alone in early parenthood.
