THE WORKSHOP, KING'S LYNN

My First Ballet introduces little ones to ballet through stories, games and imagination. Exploring different themes each week, children will start to learn the very basics of first ballet steps and mime. With a real emphasis on making the sessions fun and engaging, we aim to not only introduce the toddlers to ballet, but to help them gain confidence.

A typical session usually starts with a classic ‘hello’ song, then we move forward to a fun game like ‘Good Toes, Bad Toes’, ‘Musical Statues’ or ‘Galloping Unicorns’! There’s a mix of traditional ballet music, nursery rhymes, Disney and some age-appropriate pop music too (We play a Butterfly game to Little Mix's ‘Wings’ which is always popular!). Many of the children do like to wear ballet shoes and outfits but it absolutely is not essential, just whatever they are happy and comfortable to move around in.

Through our relaxed, fun but structured approach, we hope that children will gain the confidence to start to move around the studio space independently, although parents and carers can join in and support as much as they would like to.
