SING AND SIGN WORTHING AND SURROUNDING AREAS

Hello! I'm Hayley Croome and I run Sing and Sign classes in Worthing and the surrounding areas.

I have always been interested in signing and I started attending stage 1 of Sing and Sign classes when my youngest, Marty, was around 14 months old (that was almost a year ago now). They soon became the highlight of our week, we very quickly started singing the songs at home and using the signs we had learnt. Marty started signing after 3 classes with his first sign being 'thank you' he then very quickly learnt to sign the whole of the 'change your nappy song'. He very quickly realised that he could make himself understood at home, and the signs he was able to do very quickly grew. Even now at 20 months he is adding new signs every week. It's very helpful that he can tell me when he wants to go to bed, when he wants something to eat and drink, When he's finished something, when he has pain, when he wants milk and many more things. It's also extremely helpful that I can sign to him, when I'm going to change his nappy, when we are going to eat, when something is finished and so many more things. It truly helps reduce some melt downs. Marty spends a lot of his time singing, the songs that we learnt through Sing and Sign are firm favourites for the whole family!

We've just finished our second term of stage 2 classes and our love for Sing and Sign has grown so much that I have now taken over the franchise for the area. I am really looking forward to sharing the skills I have learnt in the classes with other families so that they too can communicate with their babies. The classes are really fun and with our 10 week terms it will enable me to get to know everyone in my classes and allow me to focus on helping you to communicate at home!
