SINGING MAMAS COLCHESTER

All women are welcome regardless of age, with or without children

What Singing Mamas Colchester says

What can you expect from a Singing Mamas group?
It's all about making YOU feel good. There are no auditions, no solos, no reading music. Just simple songs taught by ear. Your leader will sing the songs line by line and the group will echo it back, until everyone knows it off by heart. (Then we might add a harmony or two!). Children are welcome and we always make time for a cuppa and some cake.
Membership
We ask all participants to become members. We want to create a safe space to promote mental well-being. Our monthly fee covers the costs of running the group only. The monthly fee is flexible so those with limited income can join us.
Monthly fee £16.67 or £8 (low income)

About

I am a psychotherapy student at Essex Uni. I run a not for profit therapeutic singing group for women. It’s aimed at mums who are pregnant or have a new baby, but is open to all women. Singing together is clinically proven to be an effective treatment for post-natal depression amongst other things.
If you or someone you know would like more info about the group please ask or message me. We meet on Thursday mornings at Abbots Community Hall in Colchester. We sing simple meditative unaccompanied songs and finish with refreshments. You don’t have to consider yourself good at singing to attend. We charge a small fee to cover the hall hire but this is not compulsory.
Babies and toddlers are welcome and there are toys and treasure baskets for them to enjoy.
