TAPPY TOES BABY AND TODDLER DANCE BISHOP'S STORTFORD

About

Having grown up in South Africa, I enjoyed dancing as a child and attended modern & ballet classes well into my teens. As an adult I regularly attend local dance classes here in Bishop's Stortford as it is still a huge passion of mine! To now be bringing the art of dance to local families, is a dream come true.

Along with dance, I was also passionate about Speech & Drama and took this as one of my Secondary School subjects. To me, dance worked beautifully with drama in which one's body, face and voice could all work synonymously. I was awarded the 'Top Student' in Speech & Drama (Theory and Practical) in Grade 12 and seriously considered studying towards a Dance & Drama Teaching background.

However, due to a lack of adequate facilities in Durban for this, I went on to study a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree (BBA) in Marketing Management and thus my career in the corporate field started. I held various positions of Brand Manager and Marketing Manager throughout my 15 year career span until I received the most important job ever and that is to be a mother.

I was grateful to become a full-time Mum during my daughter's formative years. And because I had a real need, every day, to connect with other adults and enjoyed having a degree of structure in my day, I signed us up at various toddler & children's classes. I can honestly say that these parent and toddler classes saved my sanity (!) and resulted in some wonderful friendships being made with other Mums during what could often be a very lonely and bewildering period in our lives. My daughter, having been an extremely shy and introverted child, absolutely blossomed at these classes. The fun, lively and engaging environment offered her the opportunity to come out of her shell. It truly was the best thing we could've done and I cannot highlight the benefits of these classes enough!

We made the decision to relocate to United Kingdom last year. Hertfordshire was where we wanted to be. Bishop's Stortford was one of our top choices to live in, due to it's strong sense of community and family-friendly atmosphere. The outstanding schools and amenities offered to residents appealed to us and I feel we've found the perfect town in which to bring our daughter up in.

I was beyond thrilled to come across the award-winning Tappy Toes and to see classes being offered in Bishop's Stortford. I felt a strong sense of 'coming home' when I attended these classes. I feel extremely honoured to have the opportunity of teaching these classes after the amazing Tappy Toes founder, Claire, has built them up over the last few years.

I intend in expanding the current class areas to include the surrounding towns & villages of Bishop's Stortford, including Sawbridgeworth, the Hadham's, Stansted Mount Fitchet, Elsenham, Little & Great Dunmow.

The Tappy Toes classes are filled with music, movement, language and expression and serve to connect grown up's with their children in a fun and engaging atmosphere. It is social and interactive and all activities have been specially designed to learn, while having loads of fun.

I cannot wait to start dancing with you and your child.
