A parent & baby group with a difference. Designed for you to come with your baby, but for a change, the things we'll be exploring will be all about you & your identity. A discussion-based, creative group that won't involve nursery rhymes, but will involve fun, community, & a chance to get your teeth into the making of something. Build characters, create poetry, explore perspectives & challenge assumptions.

About

Suzy is a workshop leader, theatre director, drama teacher and confidence coach. She moved to Glasgow 6 months ago but set up the Parent & Baby Group With A Difference nearly 5 years ago! It's such a lovely group - it's a space for adult conversation, collaborative creating writing, and the chance to try something new. The group started as a research project associated with a play all about the choices behind having children back in 2017 in Canterbury, but the feedback from the participants was so positive that she decided to develop the group into a termly community series of classes and they looked at new material (films, books, podcasts, stories, poetry, pictures) each term. Since then Suzy moved to Glasgow and is just getting the group started up here, with some lovely help from Creative Scotland funding! It's a 10 week project (with a couple of weeks off around Christmas), but you can drop into 1 session or come along to the whole series. And there'll be another 10 week project starting in the West End in January.
