Blissful beginnings was founded by Lisa ROUND with a deeply personal commitment to supporting new families. My professional journey has been dedicated to early childhood development and family well-being, giving me a unique and comprehensive perspective on the parenting experience.
I began my career as a Nursery Nurse, spending 6 years in various nursery settings. This vital experience provided me with hands-on knowledge of child development milestones, practical tips for daily care, and an understanding of the immense value of safe, stimulating play environments. I then transitioned into Health Visiting, which allowed me to support families in their homes, addressing everything from feeding and sleep to routine immunisations and early identification of developmental needs. Following this, I specialised in Perinatal Mental Health, gaining crucial expertise in supporting parents through the emotional complexities of pregnancy and the first year postpartum, recognizing that a parent's mental well-being is fundamental to the entire family’s health.
It is the synthesis of all these roles—the practical Nursery Nurse, the preventative Health Visitor, and the compassionate Perinatal Mental Health specialist—that forms the backbone of Blissful beginnings. I use this layered experience to create sessions that are not just fun for the babies, but truly supportive for the adults. Whether you are seeking tips on weaning, reassurance about a sleep regression, or simply a non-judgmental space to share the emotional highs and lows of your parenting journey, my aim is to meet you where you are, offering informed, evidence-based guidance and heartfelt encouragement every step of the way.
