Description
Bluebells is designed to help support the connection in your formative relationship with your child. Heart held space offers Waldorf craft, beautiful seasonal and nature connected songs, inspiring puppet shows with snack time, outdoor play and role-modelling of the adults role in child-led play. Holistic Baby Childcare practices stem from Steiner/Waldorf and are inspired by Emmi Pikler and the EYFS. Outdoor play is encouraged all year round. We will meet in term time each week with our morning songs to welcome everyone and have a seasonal puppet show. Then our communal snack time with songs followed by craft or a nature walk with free play and our goodbye song. Crafts are parent led so you can create for your child, whilst they play or participate alongside you. We will also spend time observing, to connect with and understand the child's development. Supporting material and snacks are provided. Festivals are celebrated throughout the year, e.g. singing round maypole tree. Sessions are held at The Rookery Gardens, where we have the use of a community room if the rain or winds are too heavy. Please can parents and children come prepared for outdoors. We recommend waterproof trousers and jackets, hats and woolly socks for welly boots. Or sunhats and sun protection. A cover for pram. Bear in mind, the ground is damp in the spring and sometimes summer mornings too. You may like to bring a picnic rug for an extra layer/space.
Jo Pearce (BA Hons) has been a Parent and Child Group Leader since 2012, most recently with The London Acorn School. Informed by her Holistic Baby and Childcare qualification and therapeutic practice of Reflexology and Baby Massage, Jo enjoys attuning to parents' needs, role modelling connection and enabling outdoor group play.
On Fridays we share the community garden area with volunteers, so that day it is important to access the community room via The Inkspot Brewery gate only (i.e. not the gate within the Rookery Gardens itself). Accessible routes are marked, suitable for prams, for our outdoor meeting area - instead of going down the stairs a path is marked to the left. Prams need covers in case of protection from the rain as they do not come in the room with us (use of gazebo may be available in front, but not always. We are an outdoor group, primarily so always bring suitable layers and waterproofs. The ground is often damp in the morning even on sunny days. Adults to dress accordingly too.
