Welcome! I’m Charlie, a professional guitarist, guitar tutor and music mentor based in Kings Langley. I’ve been teaching guitar for over 20 years and playing for over 30, and I absolutely love helping people discover what music can do for them.

Whether your child has just asked to learn guitar, started at school and needs extra 1‑to‑1 support, or you (or they) want to build confidence and musical skills, I tailor every lesson to the individual. Lessons are friendly, creative, relaxed, and importantly, built around what the learner actually loves to play and learn.

I work with complete beginners right through to more experienced players. Lessons cover:

I teach an entire range of styles including rock, pop, blues, metal, folk, country and jazz (no genres left out!), and can absolutely help with more advanced goals like composition or moving toward more complex genres.

Parents often tell me how calm, patient and supportive my lessons feel, and I’ve worked successfully with many children, teens and adults, including those with SEN, ADHD, autism, anxiety or other additional needs. Lessons are tailored to your personality, pace and confidence level, not a “one‑size‑fits‑all” approach.

I offer both:

I have spaces available during weekday mornings, afternoons & after school, perfect for school‑age musicians, home‑educated learners or adults looking for a creative outlet.

Lessons take place in my calm, child-friendly home in Kings Langley, just a short walk from the High Street, with free street parking usually available nearby. When you arrive, just ring the Ring video doorbell and I’ll come to greet you.

If it’s your child’s first session, parents are welcome to stay and sit in for a little while if that helps them settle.

Please bring your own guitar if you have one, but if you’re not sure what to get yet, I’m always happy to give advice on the right instrument for your child’s age and goals.

Please arrive on-time for your lesson time (not earlier or later) for a smooth handover. If you have any special needs or accessibility requirements, including SEN, neurodivergence or disability, just let me know in advance and I’ll do everything I can to make things comfortable.
