HARMONY HAVEN
Connection. Community. Wellbeing. Simple songs taught by ear
What Harmony Haven says
Harmony Haven is a singing group for women. Sitting in a circle, the focus is on connecting with your community and singing together in harmony to promote wellbeing. There is no ‘required standard’ to come along. There will be no auditions. I will not silence your voice, however it shows up. The songs will be simple to learn, and chosen for their ease of layering up and sounding rich very quickly.
ALL women (not just parents) and non-binary persons welcome.
I am hoping to add more classes in different locations (Kemptown hopefully coming soon) and at different times (evening in person and zoom), so please hit follow to be kept updated about these.
About
Charlotte is a professional trombonist who has toured extensively across the world with a range of different artists (Hollie Cook, Tippa Irie), predominantly in the reggae genre. Her biggest gigs have been supporting The Stone Roses at their reunion gig at Heaton Park to a crowd of 70,000, and as part of ParaOrchestra at the opening of the Paralympics, with Coldplay’s Chris Martin (whilst Rihanna swung above her head!). She has toured to Russia and France with STOMP as part of their Lost & Found Orchestra – an orchestra of homemade instruments, in which she played hose pipes and traffic cones.
Charlotte has over twenty years experience of leading community music sessions, having worked for music charity Rhythmix for many years, as well as Surrey Arts as one of the original team on Orchestra UP project, an orchestra for young people with disabilities, or on the ASD spectrum.
“I am now a proud (solo) parent to a wonderful 4yo girl, so evening gigs and going away on tour are off the table for the time being. Singing has been such a solace to me through a very turbulent year last year and I’d love to bring this benefit to some others”
