LITTLE WRENS - BABY & TODDLER STORYTELLING GROUP

Little Wrens is a playful, gentle drama and storytelling class for toddlers and pre-schoolers, running every Friday at Wells Maltings.

Designed for children aged 1–4 years, Little Wrens is a shared experience for little ones and their grown-ups. Parents and carers stay and take part alongside their child, making it a relaxed and supportive space to explore creativity together. (Younger siblings under 1 are very welcome too – just pop us an email.)

Each session begins with a friendly welcome and warm-up, using gentle movement, simple drama games and music to help everyone settle in and feel comfortable. The main part of the class changes each week, but always centres around a story world. We read a carefully chosen storybook and bring it to life through:

• Imaginative role play and pretend play
• Drama and storytelling games
• Songs, rhythm and poetry
• Creative sharing using Helicopter Stories, where children’s ideas and stories are acted out and celebrated

We finish each session with a calm wind-down, such as yoga-inspired stretches, breathing or a soothing song, so everyone leaves feeling relaxed and happy. After the session, families are invited to stay for biscuits, tea and coffee, giving children time to socialise and grown-ups a chance to chat.
