What My Tribe Leicestershire says

At My Tribe, we offer circuit based fitness classes for all women at every stage of life. We believe that exercise should be accessible to all and make you feel amazing - even on 2 hours sleep. Our body changes at various stages of life and your exercise should evolve with it. Our programmes are tailored to each stage whether you are pregnant, postnatal or reaching menopause. You can be sure that you will receive a fun, safe and effective workout that is right for YOUR body whilst promoting strength and stability. My Tribe is so much more than an exercise class. This is a collection of women who will spur each other on, who will applaud each other for holding that first 30 second plank and who will lend an ear to chat about a sleepless night. And if you come to a daytime class you can even bring your little ones with you.

My Story

I hate to say it but I love exercising! I always have. It makes me feel great and it means I can eat more cake and chocolate. I ran my way through my twenties, obsessed over Hot Yoga and tried to fit in as many Body Combat classes as possible. With my first pregnancy I found exercising a doddle. I carried on running well in to the second trimester and was still doing Body Pump classes up until 36 weeks. With my second baby I could barely walk to the end of the road by about week 16! Needless to say I found it much harder to recover from my second pregnancy and took much longer to get my fitness levels back than the first time. It was a perfect lesson in how a woman’s body changes through life. And with every pregnancy and every woman being different it’s so important to find your level and to exercise in a safe and effective way.

In 2017 after 10 years working in the corporate sector and starting a family my priorities changed. Working long hours and travelling suddenly didn’t seem quite so appealing. After a lot of soul searching and late night googling I followed my dreams, taking the leap into the fitness world. I retrained as a fitness instructor, specialising in pre and postnatal and opened OFM Leicestershire bringing classes to the West Leicestershire area. It was truly wonderful. 4 years later having taught 100s of ladies, enjoying a tonne of baby cuddles and surviving a pandemic via the transition to virtual classes, I made the big decision to set up my own brand. My Tribe was born

I’m a little older now and actually the exercise that I loved in my twenties isn’t quite right for me now. As your body evolves so should your exercise. And that’s what My Tribe is all about; Fun and effective workouts at all stages of womanhood that keep you strong, fit and feeling amazing.

Being a mum to two rascal boys I know all too well how tricky it can be to fit exercise in. Aside from feeling pretty exhausted, there are only so many babysitting points available and sometimes you just can’t justify cashing in those points on going for a workout! When you can bring your little ones with you to play whilst you workout, your problems are solved. I would have LOVED to have had the opportunity to to have had a My Tribe class to go to which is why I know that you will too!

I also understand how exercise can help support your mental health. Life can be a little too much sometimes. Exercise helps me manage my feelings when things get a little overwhelming, and I’m sure it will help you too. You never regret a workout right?
