ON THE FLOOR DANCE ACADEMY

On the Floor Dance Academy is a Ballroom and Latin American dance school with the opportunity to dance like your favourite Strictly star!! We also offer the opportunity to learn Freestyle and Line Dancing. All dancers are taught in a fun, child friendly, safe environment. Dancers are able to develop core strength, muscle tone, posture, rhythm and musicality. Self esteem and confidence are nurtured through social dances and interacting new friends. Our established dancers are always ready to welcome new faces. Examinations are undertaken with the National Association of Teachers of Dancing.

Our BIG social event takes place in the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool!!

The Tower Ballroom provides an amazing Afternoon Tea, then we dance it all off on the iconic Tower Ballroom dance floor. This event is open to all friends and family for a brilliant day out.

Strictly Kids dance class offers 2 routes to success:

Route 1; Children can attend class for fun, learn new dances, develop technique and skills alongside posture, poise and rhythm.

Route 2: Alongside route 1 children can enter examinations. children aged 4-8 receive a Rainbow award made up of the seven colours of the rainbow along with certificates for each award.. Children aged 8+ receive medal awards and certificates. Each award looks great when shown in achievement assembly!!

In Strictly kids dance class, children learn routines for each of the Ballroom , Latin American, Sequence and Freestyle dances alongside the correct technique, rhythm and timing. Classes offer a structured environment to develop elegance, precision and discipline alongside the fundamentals of each dance style.

Competitions - all children have the opportunity to enter local, social competitions. Competitions practice sessions are required with the correct dress and dance shoes.

We also hold social events throughout the year such as Christmas parties and Medal presentation with Cabaret to receive awards and who is crowned Top of the School!!!

Where can I park?
Parking is available on the main road or there is a car park opposite the venue.

What will my child need?
Children to bring a water bottle
No specialised clothing needed, wear whatever feels comfortable. Trainers or soft shoes preferably that fasten are ideal for trial sessions.
School Uniform and dance shoes are available through via order form.

Can I stay with my child?
You are welcome to stay for the trial session to help your child settle in and feel comfortable. If your child is happy to stay on their own, you are welcome to leave your child and collect at the allotted time.
