ON THE FLOOR DANCE ACADEMY

On the Floor Dance Academy is a Ballroom and Latin American dance school with the opportunity to dance like your favourite Strictly star!! We also offer the opportunity to learn Freestyle and Line Dancing. All dancers are taught in a fun, child friendly, safe environment. Dancers are able to develop core strength, muscle tone, posture, rhythm and musicality. Self esteem and confidence are nurtured through social dances and interacting new friends. Our established dancers are always ready to welcome new faces. Examinations are undertaken with the National Association of Teachers of Dancing. We enter local, social competitions, these are not compulsory. On the Floor Dance Academy provides the opportunity to experience dancing in iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom for dancing along with a delicious afternoon tea.

Our classes offer something for all ages and abilities. Our classes are broken down in to:

Early Movers - This class is tailor made for children under 4. It introduces children to rhythm, rhyme, poise, fine and gross motor skills, language development and social skills. More importantly it enables parents to socialise and network alongside well-deserved cuppa at the end of the session! Drinks and biscuits provided for the little ones too!!

Strictly Kids - This class is for children aged 4+. For children aged 4-8 they can enter examinations and receive a Rainbow award. Children aged 8+ receive medal awards. In this class, children learn routines for each of the Ballroom , Latin American, Sequence and Freestyle dances alongside the correct technique, rhythm and timing.

Competitions - all the children have the opportunity to enter local, social competitions. Competitions practice sessions are required with the correct dress and dance shoes.

Throughout the year On the Floor Dance Academy hold many social events such as Christmas parties and Medal presentation to present all the examination medals by a professional cabaret.
