Description
JuniorGym at Basingstoke Gymnastics Club
JuniorGym is a fun, structured gymnastics class designed for children aged 4–6 years who are ready for a little more independence and challenge. It’s the next exciting step after MiniGym — with more focus on skill development, coordination, and confidence, all taught through engaging, coach-led sessions.
💫 FUN
Every session is filled with movement, energy, and creativity! Children take part in lively warm-ups, games, and themed activities that make learning new skills enjoyable and rewarding.
🤸 SKILLS
Gymnasts work through the British Gymnastics Rise Award Scheme, progressing from basic shapes and balances to more advanced rolls, jumps, and strength skills. Our coaches adapt each activity to suit different abilities, helping every child to achieve success and celebrate their progress.
🏅 CIRCUITS
Our rotating apparatus circuits keep things exciting! Children explore beam, bars, vault, floor, and more across our six-week cycle. Circuits are structured so that gymnasts can first learn and then master new movements in a supportive environment.
🎯 TECHNIQUE
JuniorGym builds solid foundations for future gymnastics, focusing on safe technique, good form, and body awareness — all in line with British Gymnastics standards. Coaches use demonstrations, praise, and gentle correction to help children move well and confidently.
JuniorGym helps young gymnasts develop strength, balance, and coordination — but most importantly, a love for movement and learning. Every session combines structure with fun, giving your child the perfect start to their gymnastics journey.
Free on-site parking and easy access via our main reception. Please check in at reception on arrival — no need to ring.
Children should wear comfortable sports clothing (leggings/shorts and a t-shirt) and have bare feet in the gym. Long hair should be tied up and jewellery removed for safety.
All gymnasts must hold a current British Gymnastics (BG) membership before joining the class. This provides insurance and access to the national award scheme. Details on how to register will be provided when you sign up.
Parents are welcome to watch from our viewing area but are not required to stay for the full session once children are settled.
We have baby-changing facilities, toilets, and a café area for drinks and snacks.
