Preschool DanceGym at Basingstoke Gymnastics Club

Preschool DanceGym is a lively, creative class for independent little movers aged 3–4 years. It’s the perfect blend of dance, music, and early gymnastics, designed to build coordination, confidence, and rhythm — all while having loads of fun!

💃 FUN

Every week has a new theme or style — from mini-ballet to hip-hop jumps! Children explore movement through music, games, and imagination, building confidence and friendships as they dance, twirl, and tumble their way around the gym.

🎶 SKILLS

Using music and movement, children learn simple dance steps and basic gymnastics skills. We introduce stretching, balancing, pointing toes, and moving in time with the beat — helping them develop body awareness, rhythm, and control.

🤸 CIRCUITS

Our small apparatus circuits teach balance, strength, and coordination in a fun and supportive way. Each circuit combines dance actions and gymnastics movements using soft play, beams, and floor stations designed for preschoolers.

🌟 TECHNIQUE

Children learn the fundamental shapes and movements of both dance and gymnastics — the building blocks for future classes. Coaches guide them through clear demonstrations and positive encouragement, helping each child grow in confidence and independence.

Preschool DanceGym is part of our British Gymnastics Preschool Programme, run by qualified coaches in a safe, nurturing environment. It’s a high-energy, imaginative class where every child can express themselves, move freely, and shine — all without parents in the room!

Free on-site parking and easy access via our main reception. Please check in at reception on arrival — no need to ring.

Children should wear comfortable dance or sports clothing (leggings/shorts and a t-shirt) and have bare feet in the gym. Long hair should be tied back and jewellery removed for safety.

Preschool DanceGym is an independent class — parents do not stay in the room. Our friendly coaching team will help your child settle, participate, and have fun with their new friends.

All gymnasts must hold a current British Gymnastics (BG) membership, which provides insurance and access to the national preschool award scheme.

We have a café area for drinks and snacks, baby-changing facilities, and a viewing area for parents to relax while class is running.

If it’s your first visit, please allow a few minutes to complete a short safety form at reception before the session.
