Description
Babies lie with us while we practice post natal yoga. With particular focus on:
- Reconnecting and rediscovering your body
- Soothing the nervous system
- The pelvic floor – reconnecting, toning, strengthening, healing
- Drawing together the two rectus abdominis which can separate during pregnancy
- Building pelvic stability
- Restoring the body towards full core strength
- Maintaining flexibility of the spine and joints
- Releasing the neck and shoulders, and opening the chest
- Hormonal balance
- Rest and relaxation
- Building confidence
- Improving mental and emotional wellbeing
- Connecting with other mothers
After the yoga, we move to the baby massage part of the class. Developmental baby massage is a gentle form of massage that supports a baby's physical, sensory, and emotional development by promoting bonding, relaxation, and coordination. Unlike traditional massage focused on relaxation, it incorporates techniques to help babies achieve developmental milestones, improve muscle tone, and enhance body awareness
We finish each class with herbal tea and cookies. Sometimes the babies will fall asleep while mothers chat.
Wear loose, comfortable clothes for your own yoga.
You might want to bring your baby in his/her sleepsuit, and dress him/her afterwards (to avoid changing twice in one morning).
Easy pram access.
Dress really comfortably, ready for movement.
Please bring 2 towels for the massage.
We provide organic sunflower oil for the massage.
