This yoga class is designed to nurture and support you through pregnancy, birth and beyond. The class includes stretches, movements, breathing and relaxation techniques that will help you to ease niggles, sleep better and be more comfortable in pregnancy and to bond with your baby after birth. These friendly classes help you to make the most of your pregnancy and the postnatal period. If you have any queries please email Yoga Point Brixton. This is a chance to meet others who are pregnant and live close by, creating a support network during pregnancy and beyond. Yoga during pregnancy can aid deep relaxation, calm fluctuating emotions and help to prepare you for labour and the early days with your baby. The class is energising, uplifting and nurturing and is a great way to release the tensions in the body and build strength and stamina.
Shelley’s yoga practice and curiosity for movement with mindfulness began in 2008. She completed her first 200-hour teacher training in Rishikesh, India in 2016, with a focus on Ashtanga and Hatha traditions. She later completed a further 200-hour training with Gingi Lee and Kath Roberts during 2020–2021, deepening her understanding of yoga’s roots and philosophy.
Since becoming a mother, Shelley has cultivated a personal practice that weaves yoga, meditation, and breathwork into daily life — a practice grounded in self-compassion, patience, and balance. In 2024, she completed the Trauma Centre, Trauma Sensitive Yoga 20-hour Foundation Workshop, further enriching her approach to creating safe and supportive spaces. She also recently completed Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training with Alexa Dean and is passionate about supporting women, particularly those raising children alone.
