What Sol Pilates says

Pilates is a safe form of exercise that will help you through all the stages of Pregnancy, during the fourth trimester and beyond. It is also a lovely way to meet other mums in the local community. As a mum of a four year old girl I experienced first hand the goodness of Pilates during my pregnancy and after. You will continue to get the full benefits of Pilates along with a specific focus that will help to prepare your body for birth and to recover once your bundle of joy has arrived.

About

Hi, I’m Silvia and before becoming a Pilates teacher for many years I had a busy corporate job in London. I used to spend long hours at a desk working under high levels of stress. I started to develop back pain and anxiety and tried different classes at the gym including Pilates, but my aches and anxiety persisted.

A good friend of mine dragged me to try Pilates at a Pilates studio. The class was small and the Pilates teacher would explain each exercise in detail, giving us individual attention and correcting our posture. I was hooked from the beginning. It was exercise as I never experienced before, a form of mindful movement.

As I continue to practice Pilates not only did my body become stronger but also my back pain and high stress levels disappeared. Pilates was one of the highlights of my week, something to look forward to. I continued my Pilates practice during pregnancy as a way of keeping fit and helping with my changing posture. Pilates helped me enormously not only to prepare for birth but to recover quickly during the postnatal period. I then decided to train as a Pilates teacher to bring the benefits of Pilates to others.
